State Final of the Rotary 4 Way Test

On Monday evening 8th May, Emma Shine (Year 11) represented AvÐÔ°® Christi College at the state final of the Rotary 4 Way Test Public Speaking Competition in Woodvale. This is a very prestigious event. There were 3 other students competing from Butler College, Perth Modern, and Mandurah Catholic College respectively.

Emma’s speech discussed how not one of the United Nations Eight Millennium Development Goals, due to be realised in 2015, had been achieved. Some of these goals included eradicating extreme hunger and poverty, achieving universal primary education and improving maternal health. Emma spoke with confidence and passion, however did not receive a placing in the competition. She can be very proud of the way she represented the College and I would like to acknowledge her dedication and diligence in the lead up to this event. Emma is to be commended for all her hard work.

I would also like to thank Mr John Tuffin and the Rotary Club of Booragoon for their on-going support of our Year 10 competitors.  For the past 10 years, the club and all its members have been so generous and encouraging of the AvÐÔ°® Christi College students involved.
